About My Story

Why we exist, where we started, and how we work.

Vision

“A Bangladesh where every child's story is heard, believed, and acted upon.”

Mission

“To turn children's lived experiences into storytelling, training, and policy change — safely, and on their own terms.”

Background

Amar Golpo (“My Story”) began in 2019 as a small pilot in two districts, working with local schools and community groups to give children a safe, structured way to narrate their own experiences.

What started as a storytelling workshop has grown into a program spanning 32 districts — combining direct fieldwork with advocacy that has shaped national child-protection policy.

Our Approach

Four ways we turn a child's voice into lasting change.

Storytelling

Children narrate their own experiences safely, in their own words.

Advocacy

Turning lived experience into evidence that reaches decision-makers.

Training

Equipping caregivers, teachers, and youth leaders with storytelling & consent skills.

Policy Influence

Working directly with government bodies to translate stories into policy change.
